SAN FRANCISCO, September 14th 2008 – Gaining in attendance each year and enjoyed by over 1,000 people last year, the 9th Annual Buchanan at Greenwich Block Party fund raiser will be held on Sunday, September 14. All proceeds after expenses benefit the San Francisco Bay Area Affiliate of The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and last year more than $60,000 was raised. It again promises to be a rousing afternoon of food, drink, live music, a silent auction and raffle, and even a casino tent.
Hosted by Eddie Savino, owner of The Brazen Head Restaurant, this block party promises once again to attract not just the locals in Cow Hollow and Fillmore Street area but residents city-wide. There is no admission charge; funds are raised by minimal charges on food and beverage, raffle tickets, the silent auction and casino. many San Francisco restaurants and businesses are donating wonderful merchandise, dinner and hotel certificates for the raffle and silent auction.
From noon to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 14th, the block of Buchanan Street from Greenwich to Filbert is closed off to automobile traffic. Tents, tables and chairs are placed outside and The Brazen Head Restaurant is the focal point of the event.
The Brazen Head Restaurant has evolved into nothing less than a local landmark. It is one of San Francisco’s coziest places for regulars to meet, eat, drink and be merry…and one of the few dining establishments in the City serving gourmet meals until 1:00 a.m. nightly.
